Free Photo Frame Mockup PSD

A free photo frame mockup PSD, ready to use in Photoshop or Photopea. If you sell printable wall art, quote prints, or digital downloads on Etsy, this mockup gives you a styled, real-life setting to show your design in, without you needing to print, frame, and photograph every piece yourself. Drop your design into the smart object and you’ll have a finished mockup in under a minute.

This is a real photo, not AI generated. The frame is real wood, the table is real wood, the light is real natural light, so what you see is what your customers will see.

A framed black-and-white photo of a couple on their wedding day sits on a wooden table. The couple is embracing and smiling, partially covered by a veil, with soft, cozy surroundings in the background.

How to use it in Photoshop

  1. Open the PSD in Photoshop (File > Open)
  2. Find the layer labeled “Your Design Here” in the Layers panel
  3. Double-click the smart object thumbnail to open the design canvas in a new tab
  4. Drop your design in, fill the canvas, and save with Cmd/Ctrl + S
  5. Go back to the mockup tab and export with File > Export > Export As

If you already have a different sized file from a print-on-demand supplier, just drop it into the smart object and scale it up or down to fit the canvas.

How to use it in Photopea

Don’t have Photoshop? Photopea is a free browser-based editor that opens PSDs and supports smart objects, which means this mockup works there too.

The quick version:

  1. Go to photopea.com and open the PSD (File > Open)
  2. Double-click the “Your Design Here” smart object layer
  3. Drop your design into the canvas and save with Ctrl + S
  4. Export from the mockup tab with File > Export As > JPG or PNG

Same rule for full wrap files: drop them in and scale to fit the smart object canvas.

A note on sizing

A note on print sizing: this mockup is sized for a 4×6 inch portrait print. If your design is at a different aspect ratio (5×7, 8×10, or square), it will still display in the smart object, but it might look stretched or have empty space around it. For best results, use designs that are 4×6 portrait or that you’ve cropped to that ratio.

Terms of use

This mockup is free for personal and commercial use, including Etsy listings, printable shops, digital download stores, client work, and social media.

A few things this licence doesn’t cover:

  • You can’t resell the PSD file. That includes selling it as-is, editing it, rebranding it, or adding it to bundles or template packs you sell.
  • You can’t share the file directly with others. If a friend or colleague wants it too, please send them to this page so they can grab their own copy.
  • You can’t claim it as your own original work. You can use it freely in your projects, but the mockup itself is my work, not yours.

If you’re ever unsure whether a specific use is okay, send me a quick email and I’ll let you know.

FAQs

Every mockup in my shop is a real photograph, not AI generated. I photograph each mug in natural light so you get authentic ceramic texture, real shadows, and proper lighting. AI generated mockups often have small inconsistencies (wonky handles, weird reflections, distorted designs) that make them look off, especially to experienced Etsy buyers. Real photos hold up to scrutiny.

Yes. The PSD includes a smart object layer that Photopea supports, so you can edit and export the mockup without needing Photoshop.

No, the background is part of the photograph, so it can’t be edited like the design area can. If you want a different background, browse the shop to see other mockups with different settings, or check back as new ones get added regularly.

Want more printable art mockups?

This is one of many printable and stationery mockups in my shop. If you sell wall art, quote prints, or digital download printables on Etsy, you’ll know how much your listing photos affect whether buyers click. A flat PNG of your design doesn’t convert as well as a beautiful styled mockup that shows the print in a real home setting.

My shop has a growing range of frame and print mockups in different sizes, frame styles, and settings, all photographed in real spaces with consistent styling. New mockups get added regularly. Or check out my other free mockups!
