Real Photo Insulated White Travel Mug PSD – Freebie!

This real photo PSD mockup is of the white insulated 40 oz travel mug from Printify, shipped and printed by Polar Camel. It features a real person model holding the mug so you can place your designs on it and it’ll look realistic, just how your customers will receive it.

A person in a beige hoodie holds a large white travel mug with a clear lid and the text PSD mockup printed vertically on it, against a plain light background.

I ordered three of these travel mugs from Printify to test and see their quality before taking mock-up photos of them, and I love the quality. So here’s a phot to add to my growing collection of free real photo mockups. If you’ve come from Etsy, you will know I sell my mockups there, but if I do a photoshoot, I like to include a free one to add to my website too. That way, you can get to know my mockups and style and try before you buy. If there are specific mockups you are looking for, feel free to let me know in the comments or send me an email, I love adding new ideas to the site.

I like to match my mockups so they match the sizes and placements that Printify requires. This is so it will match as closely as possible what your customers will get.

If you’ve not used a file like this before, I’ve got some instructions below, but don’t worry it’s really easy! You can use Photoshop, or the free online Photopea.

How to use it in Photoshop

  1. Open the PSD in Photoshop (File > Open)
  2. Find the layer labeled “Your Design Here” in the Layers panel
  3. Double-click the smart object thumbnail to open the design canvas in a new tab
  4. Drop your design in, fill the canvas, and save with Cmd/Ctrl + S
  5. Go back to the mockup tab and export with File > Export > Export As

If you already have a different sized file from a print-on-demand supplier, just drop it into the smart object and scale it up or down to fit the canvas.

How to use it in Photopea

Don’t have Photoshop? Photopea is a free browser-based editor that opens PSDs and supports smart objects, which means this mockup works there too.

The quick version:

  1. Go to photopea.com and open the PSD (File > Open)
  2. Double-click the “Your Design Here” smart object layer
  3. Drop your design into the canvas and save with Ctrl + S
  4. Export from the mockup tab with File > Export As > JPG or PNG

Same rule for full wrap files: drop them in and scale to fit the smart object canvas.

FAQs

Every mockup in my shop is a real photograph, not AI generated. I photograph each item myself so you get the real look and texture. If you use ai mockups you’ll know they often have inconsistencies (like wonky handles, weird reflections, distorted designs or weird textures) that make them look off.

Yes. The mockup is free for personal and commercial use, including Etsy listings, print-on-demand shops, and client work.

Yes. The PSD includes a smart object layer that Photopea supports, so you can edit and export the mockup without needing Photoshop.

No, the background is part of the photograph, so it can’t be edited like the design area can. If you want a different background, browse the shop to see other mockups with different settings, or check back as new ones get added regularly.
